Richard is a guest on a TV show, and talking about his life and his job.

TV Presenter: Hi Richard. Thanks for coming to our show. I’ve just read your article, and I think it is marvelous.

Richard: Thank you Paul.

TV Presenter: You travel around the world, stay in different hotels, and write about them. What a lovely job!

Richard: Yeah, I’s exciting but sometimes tiring.

TV Presenter: How long have you been a traveler and a writer?

Richard: Since 2000.

TV Presenter: For twelve years? Wow. I think you have already seen all the countries in the world.

Richard: Not all the countries yet. But I’ve been to many countries and stayed at many different hotels.

TV Presenter: That sounds exciting. Did you always want to travel when you were a child?

Richard: Well, I lived in different countries when I was a child because my father was a doctor for the United Nations. So we moved to different countries very often.

TV Presenter: Oh I see. How many countries have you lived in so far?

Richard: Let me think. Well, I was born in Somalia in 1976. After four years, we moved to Kenya. We lived there until 1983. Then we started to live in South Africa. I went to school there. I remember those difficult but beautiful days.

TV Presenter: Three countries so far. And?

Richard: And we moved Algeria in 1990. I finished high school in Algeria and went to the USA to study tourism in 1994. When I was a student at the university, I wrote travel articles about Africa for the local magazines. It was 1996. After the university I started to live and work in Canada in 1999. At first, I worked in the office of the magazine. But I couldn’t do it for a long time because working in an office was not for me. I am a natural-born traveler.

TV Presenter: Yeah. It’s clear.

Richard: After one year, I started to work as a travel writer. And you know the rest.

TV Presenter: Yeah I know. It’s a very interesting biography. Thank you for joining us Richard.

Richard: My pleasure Paul.
