The Hares and the Frogs – Ezop Masalı

One day hares gathered together and lamented the unhappiness of their fate because they were exposed to a lot of dangers but they weren’t strong and they didn’t have courage. Men, dogs, birds many other animals were their enemies and they killed and ate the hares everyday. They decided to kill themselves instead of enduring this unhappy life. So they ran to a pool near them. They were intending to drown themselves. Some frogs were sitting by the pool. When they heard the hares, they all jumped into the water and hid themselves. Then, one of the hares, who was wise, said to his friends, “Stop, my friends, be brave; don’t let us kill ourselves; there are creatures who are afraid of us, and who must, therefore, be still more timid than ourselves.”
